Archaeologist Dr. David West Reynolds was inspired to follow the adventurous trail of Indiana Jones around the world to explore first-hand the reality behind the cinema classic Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). A Kickstarter campaign has been launched to fund a documentary about his project.

Archaeologist Dr. David West Reynolds used his professional skills to track down and relocate the lost Star Wars (1977) filming sites in Tunisia, allowing the Prequel Trilogy to be filmed at the original locations. The expedition led Reynolds to a job working for Lucasfilm, where he became a #1 best-selling Star Wars author.

Real-life archaeologist Dr. David West Reynolds worked for Lucasfilm during the Star Wars Prequel era at Skywalker Ranch, where he discussed Indiana Jones with Indy's creator, George Lucas.

In 1995 before GPS, archaeologist Dr. David West Reynolds relocated the site in Tunisia that was filmed by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas as the "Tanis Digs" in the original Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark.
